Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do you take dogs to off-leash parks?
A: No, there are too many elements out of my control at off-leash areas: aggressive dogs, fights, erratic handlers, community water-bowls, rough and tumble play, etc. An integral element of our service is that your dog remains safe (and relatively clean.) We offer brisk leash-walking.
Q: Do you use kennels to board?
A: No. However, if your dog is crate-trained, please do bring your dog's personal crate.
Q: What are your requirements for boarding?
A: I need to get to know your dog. Dogs who board with us must be able to function nicely in a pack of 6-7 other dogs and cannot bark excessively or indiscriminately. We board medium to large dogs and require currency on vaccinations.
Q: Can you help me with my aggressive dog?
A: Yes, I can help with training, and we can schedule solo training-walks. I have worked Growl Classes for Sound Animals and possess ample alpha-skills.
Q: Will my dog always walk with the same dogs?
A: No, I like to mix it up so all Left Coast Dogs get to know each other. Many of my older, established dogs are excellent role-models.
Q: What about inclement weather?
A: We'll towel off wet and muddy dogs upon return. Light snow and ice are surmountable obstacles.
Q: How do you handle billing?
A: Walking clients are e-billed every other week. Boarding clients are asked to remit with cash or check at drop-off.
Q: What are your drop-off and pick-up hours?
A: 7:30am-10:00pm If you have an earlier departure or a later arrival, you can drop-off the previous evening or pick-up the next morning at no additional charge.
